About Shu Dong Talk

We are a small editorial team based in Singapore and Beijing. We started this publication in 2024 because we noticed something: the conversations people were having privately about anxiety, sleep, burnout, and loneliness were very different from the wellness content published online.

We started writing about what actually happened to us on Sunday evenings at 7pm. What it felt like to close the laptop and realize your chest was tight. The way breathing exercises stopped working after week three. The 90 days we tracked our heart rate variability before we believed the numbers.

Editorial team

  • Liu Wen (founder, editor-in-chief) — 12 years in product management, 4 years of personal meditation practice, tracked 180 days of sleep data in 2024
  • Dr. Chen Shuyuan (medical reviewer) — practicing physician, MD from Peking University, reviews every article that mentions health, sleep, or the body
  • Sarah Kim (English editor) — former Reuters journalist, 8 years of health and wellness reporting, native English speaker

What we publish

  • Personal essays about anxiety, burnout, and the Sunday evening dread
  • Breathing and meditation techniques we have actually tested for 30+ days
  • Data-driven articles about sleep, heart rate variability, and stress
  • Reviews of products that helped us (or did not)

What we do not publish

We do not publish AI-generated content. Every article is written by a human editor who has experienced the topic. We do not use affiliate links to products we have not personally tested. We do not make medical claims without citing peer-reviewed sources.

Reach out via the contact page if you have a topic suggestion, a press kit, or noticed an error we should correct.
